Amazing burger and fries!! The Smokestack burger was phenomenal (my husband’s favorite) and the poblano burger was my favorite! Thursday night is burger night and so worth the drive if you’re not close.
Let me tell you about this little gem we found by pure luck! But I am so glad we did! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Since we opened the door, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere very family-oriented, clean and calming. We ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides plate. Paid a little over 20. Not bad at all. The hominy and mac and cheese where amazing. We ordered the brisket lean and brisket moist. Sooo god! While we were eating, staff came to make sure we were doing ok several times. Very attentive. 100% recommend.
My family and I were treated like family here. The staff knew our kids by name by the end of the meal, going out of their way to accommodate my daughter with a grilled cheese and giving us a tour of the kitchen and smoker. Most importantly, they make amazing bbq. Brisket with burnt ends, sausage, mac and cheese, and even their french fries, all amazing. Must hit if you're passing through. We will be back.
This beautiful Sunday started with a leisurely drive to Boerne/Sisterdale so we could try what promised to be some damn good BBQ. They opened at 11, we arrived at 11:05 and the line was already out the door. These folks know how to keep a promise!! We got a bit carried away and ordered the burnt ends, moist brisket, fries, Mac n cheese, fried chicken and chicken fried steak served with out of the world cornbread and the best potato salad we've ever eaten. Portions are generous and Yes, boxes were requested so no cooking for me tonight. While not close enough to be a regular spot for us, we agreed we'll be back especially since they have some cobblers they serve now and again that I want to try. Worth every mile of the drive.
Listen up folks, Im sure the word is out on Black Board Bar B Q, so IYKYK! I had lunch for the first time, I had gotten good reviews but boy was I surprised. I ordered the 2 meat plate, moist brisket and turkey ( both meats were perfectly flavored, like wow, wow and woweee), with a side of some of the best mac and cheese I've ever eaten, charro beans and complimentary side of pickles, red onions and pickled jalapenos. Oh man , oh man, If you haven't tried this place, we'll don't sleep on it, in my opinion it should be in the top 5 in Texas. Oh yes, I will be back for the Ribs, I was told I missed out on one of the most requested items there, their delicious ribs. The owner personally came out and gave me more napkins, a fly helicopter and made sure I was well taken care of. Waitstaff was wonderful as well and the service made me feel like I was royalty. So , get there before Texas Monthly puts them on the List!! You will love it as much as I did
Jake and his wife are the nicest people on the planet. We could not have been made to feel more welcomed and we are from Mass-a-two-shits. The food is out of this world. 6 stars. This is a must stop at BBQ RESTAURANT!!!! 10 STARS...
Little country gem here in Sisterdale. After an amazing trip to The Preserve to pet some elephants, we were starving and BBQ was gonna hit the spot. We almost passed this place up but that would have been a major mistake. Wonderful customer service, very friendly staff, and even better food. If this place ain't ran by a bunch of men, I'd be shocked because it exudes your man at home smokin meat on a Sunday afternoon. Some of the best Mac and cheese and fries around! Highly recommend. Don't miss out on this prominent Texas staple.
The brisket was fantastic. The fatty portions were so tender, they barely stayed on my fork. The lean was just as flavorful and not dry at all. Some of the best I’ve had in the state. Make sure to try the garlic links too—they were killer. The truffle fries and mac n cheese put us over the top. It was awesome. We also really enjoyed talking to Trace and hearing about their process for the briskets. Get to this place now before they hit the top 10 on the Texas Monthly list!
